Our last day in Venice, we took Vaporetto #1 down the Grand Canal - here are some of the pics:
Some of the houses are sinking in Venice - this one is pretty far gone:
This one is showing a bit of decay as well:
... and being gutted:
a small park right next to the water:
Accademia Bridge (it was supposed to be temporary, but the locals liked it so it was kept in place):
A better view of the "wedding cake" (aka Doges Palace):
Off the vaporetto and time to catch our train!
in the busier sections - the alleyways are filled with stores like these:
We found a random art stop - with some really disturbing (in my opinion) pieces:
We made our train (barely!) - here is Michael on the top bunk in our couchette. We were getting ready for the 12 hour train ride from Venice to Paris!
I woke up REALLY early (it is hard for me to sleep on a train - not Michael though) and took some pictures of the sunrise over Parisian fields ...
WAKE UP SLEEPYHEAD!! :P
We're in Paris!!
