7 months!
December was quite a month! Caleb was cruising along while holding on to the same object, started sitting up on his knees and on his bottom and sat in a shopping cart for the first time! At 7 months he loved eating prunes, ground meats, pears, squashes, and puffs. He learned how to swipe his palm across the floor to pick things up. We drove to Bangs, Texas to celebrate Caleb's first Christmas with Michael's family and he met Pop-Daddy, some of his Aunts and Uncles and cousins, and his great-grandparents for the first time! He really liked tearing paper and pulling tissue paper out of the gifts. While in Texas he also cut his first top tooth - which meant sleeping with him in the pack-n-play was SUPER fun :/
After Thanksgiving we immediately decorated for Christmas since it was our last in this house - we also had to start packing up the house so that we could move in January!
Caleb LOVED having a "party" with all of the dancing snowmen!
Looking at books:
Mama snuggles with booty pop:
First time in a shopping cart!
He likes the shopping cart ... no more infant seat for us!
Yaya had an incrediblock for her other grandbabies, but since they had given up on us they had given it away - so Caleb got his very own to play with and it is one of his favorite toys that he still plays with today (~17 months!):
It gave him something fun to play with while working on pulling up:
Boxes boxes everywhere :*( Since we sold our house before our PCS time, we had to pack up and move ourselves without the help of the government! Ugh!!
We took a break from studying and packing to head out to Safari Park!
Looking out at the savannah from a high deck:
Huge lions!
Riding the tram to see all of the animals!
More boxes :(
He loved playing in the laundry basket - and even more when it was upside down so he could push it around!
Peek-a-boo daddy!
Some of our all-time favorite pjs from our friends Michael and Linda!
He had to have a jacket when it got cold in the house!
Party time!
"Portable lovey" again...
Chewing on the sippy cups:
Smiles with mama!
He learned to tip over the play gym so that he could have better access to the music box:
The turkeys are back!
Outtakes ... the kid is difficult to photograph!
Heading to the MALS-11 Christmas party!
He rocked the same sweater to go see Auntie Linda and Uncle Michael while Linda and I went to a cookie exchange :)
Linda gave him his first toy cell phone!
Uncle Ryan sent a penguin suit ... he looks like Randy from the Christmas Story :D
He learned to love it tho - it was too funny!
Learning how to walk with a moving object!
Hanging out in Christmas socks:
Mad.
Over it.
Super smiley in his doggy-hooded blanket for a cold walk with Piglet!
He flips EVERYTHING over to figure out how it works ...
We got to Bangs and Corde had brought over some awesome deer sausage! We hung out at the shop for a bit so that we could snack :)
Pop-Daddy and Caleb checking out the pit:
Spending some time with Pop-Daddy and his cousins!

Caleb's face says it all ... early (not that he wouldn't have woken up that early anyway ... but we had to get up and function)!!!
All the kids opening presents (Ethan, Caleb, Hadley, Annsley, and Sydney)!
Playing with Hadley:
Our first family Christmas!
I like boxes.
Watch out - flap down!!
We went over to Grandmother and Granddad Early's house to spend time with extended family! (I forgot to get a picture with his great-grandparents tho - dangit!)
Grandmother and Granddad gave Caleb a tractor and a first bible verses book - both of which he loved!
In the evening, Uncle Bryan arrived with Kenan and Sladen and Uncle Corde, Aunt Leslie and Taytum and Spencer came over to open more gifts!
All the kids!
Playing with P-Mo!
Caleb was fascinated with the roomba!
Discussing things with Pop Daddy:
Uncle Bryan!
Some last indulgences on our way back to San Diego ...
Trying to keep a 7 month old happy on a 19 hour drive :/
More Christmas gifts when we got home!
It was New Year's Eve before we knew it - time for black eyed peas and cornbread!
A rousing NYE at the house :)
