Singapore

Singapore was great - we only had about 24 hours before we flew back out, but I wanted to get a taste of what Singapore was like. Holy cleanliness. I have never seen a cleaner country - and it was so refreshing! We didn't even chew gum b/c we didn't want to get in trouble ;)
Here is Wisma Atria shopping center on Orchard Road:
across the street you could watch full-on movie previews on their gigantic t.v. screen:
We tried to go to the food court to get something to eat. We were so overwhelmed we left. This place was an entire floor that twisted and turned and made my head hurt.
So we headed to a bar. The food was fantastic - some of the best spring rolls I have EVER had!!
This bar was cool. Right next to the busy shopping area so there was great people-watching available along with some chill music and great food to relax with. It helped that there were couches to kick my feet up on.
Afterwards we went to the Singapore Flier to see the view:
I am still not a fan of heights ...
Michael got me to smile for a few photos though :)
Michael really liked this building that stood on 4 pillars:
... and I really liked the ship being built on the top of this building:
Everywhere we went there were Chinese New Year celebrations that were being set up (we flew in on THE day they celebrated ... yeah.):

Crazy-busy shipyards:
The best part of Singapore - the Night Safari!!
It took 45 minutes to get there by train (way longer than we thought) ... but we were able to get there in time for the last animal show. Here I am waiting for the show to start all sweaty b/c it was SO humid:
The show started off with this wolf howling at the moon (I know its blurry ... and its the best of the bunch. They kept changing how much light there was so we didn't get any good pics). At one point they went and pulled a 12 foot python out from underneath the audiences' feet (it was in a built-in case in the stadium seating). It was so amazing and I loved it.
After the show we jumped on the tram to run around the park - we saw some lions, elephants, and bears (oh my ... sorry, couldn't resist), as well as some flying monkeys that flew over the top of our heads (you got to go in the cage with them). The coolest animal, in my opinion, was the fishing cat. Full blown bob-cat look-a-likes diving into the water to catch a fish.
After the tram we had to try to get back to the hotel. The line to catch a taxi, b/c by now the trains weren't running, was about 75 deep with a taxi arriving every 5 or so minutes (remember it being the Chinese New Year? Yep, most cab drivers were at home celebrating). We ran to catch a bus (hoping it was the right one), hopped on without a pass ... and luckily the little man driving it let us stay on. He took us to the train station ... so we caught a cab there. Fun stuff. We got home about 0200!
We flew to Langkawi the next day!
