CMU MBA Graduation

Even though Michael and I received our MBA diplomas from California Miramar University before we left San Diego, it was a big deal to me to be hooded at the ceremony. So ... Caleb and I flew back and our awesome friends gave us a place to stay and helped out with Caleb while I walked! Michael was unable to go because of his school schedule and everyone at the ceremony kept asking where he was!
Caleb did AMAZING on the flights! We found an empty gate so that he could get out some energy!

Watching the planes:

We were only there for one full day - so we woke up early (Caleb was still on East Coast time) - and went for breakfast burritos at our favorite Mexican food drive through (next to our old house, sniff sniff). We then went to the fantastic park on Miramar to hang out :)
Caleb couldn't get enough of the burrito:

He kept running back over to the bag to pull it out (I was trying to save half for the next day)!

Us before the graduation ceremony!

Michael Moore (aka baby whisperer) kept Caleb more than entertained and quiet during the whole ceremony!

There was a musician in the lobby and he was enthralled!

Me before the ceremony - THANK YOU Linda for all of the photos!!

Before they presented the diplomas and hoods, I was awarded the Most Outstanding Strategic Management Capstone Project!

Being hooded by the Dean!

Caleb came up on stage afterwards and wore my cap around :)

Afterwards we went and celebrated with delicious sushi, but we had to wait for the restaurant to open so Michael took Caleb to get some ice-cream:

... and for a ride in a shopping cart!

He liked the sushi!

The next day he was DONE. He still did amazing on the flights and I am so grateful for his behavior!

A smiley picture for Daddy because we were coming home to him!

A quick dinner at Chick-Fil-A before our last flight!

Whew!  What a whirlwind trip! I am so thankful for wonderful friends and that I was able to experience the graduation ceremony!

October 2013

October is our most favorite month of the year - yeah for Fall! We've been staying very busy ...
Playing in our toy box:

Getting in our toy box to ensure we got everything out:

Grilling our spoons:

Manipulating Daddy so that we can watch cartoons in the big bed:

Re-arranging the rugs over ... and over ... and over again.

... and being quite pleased with ourself.

He tried repeatedly to climb up into our laps while we sat at the table looking for a new house at our next duty station!

Climbing up into the easel was a fun new game :/

We climbed the cargo net:

and slid down lots of slides:

Uncle Bryan and Aunt Kristen came by! Aunt Kristen was able to meet Caleb for the first time and Bryan was able to hear the Pony!

The basket became a new hiding spot:

We met Daddy one warm afternoon at the park on base:

... and somehow got a nice bruise while we played:

Caleb also decided that messing with Bailey was a new fun game.

... and that the lawnmower was a great stepping stone:

Caleb got new rain boots and had a blast in the rain!

He didn't want to take them off!

So we waited until Daddy was able to see them when he got home!

Look closely. He was completely being a pill while I tried to workout so I put my headphones behind his ear. The kid LOVES music!

We did lots of stickers with Daddy:

The bruise started to fade:

Look at that little belly!

Checking out Daddy's boots:

Such big shoes to fill!

Little stinker turned his chair over to make a new sitting spot!

He also wore his puppy blanket as a cape around the house!

... and tried to start the lawnmower the lazy man's way :)

We ordered Caleb some kid-friendly headphones so that he could watch his shows on the ipad on an upcoming plane trip!

We went up to Alexandria to visit Michael's college roommate's family! Marcel was also our best man!
His two boys played fabulously with Caleb!

Hunter and Caleb chillin' in their chairs!

It was super cold and rainy so we went up to the Children's Museum. The boys loved grocery shopping :)

... and making pizza with Daddy!

Marcel, Michael and their boys!

Michael and Caleb in front of the Marine Corps Commandant's house!

Marine Barracks at 8th & I!

We also visited our old friends from Lejeune as well! Phil and Bridget had added another little one to their brood who is closer to Caleb's age! I was bad about taking pictures though ...

When we got back Caleb got sick :/

Once feeling better, he had fun dipping apples into yogurt:

All smiles in his Halloween pjs (which also were glow in the dark)!

We went to the pumpkin patch but it was raining ... so we strolled through the nursery to see the coi fish.

We decided to wait out the rain by going to breakfast :)

The rain let up so we went back!

He kept throwing this little pumpkin on the ground:

So we put a bigger one up next to him!

Heading out on the tractor ride into the pumpkin patch!

Caleb kept throwing straw:

Helping Daddy find the most perfect pumpkin!

He got really excited running from pumpkin to pumpkin:

... and then he "tasted" all of them :/

... and he's off again!

He picked it up!

... and carried it around!

Super tired boy.

He played with his Leap Pad so we could use it as another distraction on the flight!

We went down to meet my newest nephew, CJ!

My proud brother with his boy (finally)!

Scout and Caleb still wrecked shop despite the newborn in their midst.

My bro and I with our boys!

Scout was determined to give Caleb a goodbye hug!

We took some pics with the changing colors because we haven't had a real Fall in 10+ years!

We had our first timeout. Dismal failure - nothing fazes him!

He checked out our pumpkins!

... and wasn't too thrilled that we wanted him to help clean them out.

Michael and his pumpkin!

Pitiful little face.

"Helping" Mommy.

Getting braver.

Helping Daddy:

Finally touching the pumpkin.

... and then eating it.

Stirring the seeds that Momma pulled from the pumpkins!

... and trying to eat them.

Our pumpkins!

Halloween! Our little dinosaur! Even though he didn't feel well, he was such a trooper to get in his costume and walk around the neighborhood a little bit!

Daddy and his dino :)

It is so hard to get a picture of this kiddo sitting still!

Checking out our mums:

He. Was. Done.

He loved seeing all of our trick or treaters through the window, but still wanted to make sure there weren't any treats leftover!
