Rokuon-Ji Temple (The Golden Pavilion)

Words cannot describe how beautiful the Golden Pavilion is.  It is astounding.  A little history of the building:  the pavilion itself consists of three types of architectures - The first floor is Shinden-zukuri, the palace style.  The second floor is Buke-zukuri, the style of the samurai house.  The third floor is Karayo style, or Zen temple style.
I think this was our second favorite place we visited on our trip (our favorite is still coming up!):

The water from Kyoko-chi (Mirror pond) seemed like it was dancing off of the golden lacquer and thick golden gilding:
We have a friend with REALLY bad luck - we bought him one of these so maybe his luck will turn around :)

Absolutely amazing...
