Cape Hedo

Not only did we hike Hiji Falls yesterday, but we also went up to Hedo Point! Hedo Point is the Northernmost tip of Okinawa. Amazing pretty much sums it up:

This compass on the ground points North (to where the big rock formation is, and where we're standing in the picture above):Here is the big "rock formation" from the previous picture, up close:
We stopped in the little shops for some chicken yakitori before we headed up to Hiji Falls:
My first experience without any Western-style toilets :)
We tried to go and see the "cliffs" ?? It was a tourist attraction that they wanted money for - so we saved it for another time and day. This was the road you had to take back:
There were all sorts of monuments - we're not sure what any of them said though:Like this bird. Seriously. I guess it would help if we could read Kanji to see the significance of this bird, but there was an even larger bird on the side of the mountain further up (we're talking a 10-15 foot bird). Anyone know why they're so prominant in this area??
This was from the ride up there (water is on the left of us) - really curvy roads and lots of looong tunnels:Heading back down South to hike Hiji Falls (water is on the right of us)!
